17 Apr 2020

Kudos

Based on the capstone thesis of our BACBS student WONG Sam Yin (Sammi) and expanded by Dr Sicong Dong (Postdoctoral Fellow, CBS), a paper on variations of haplology in Hong Kong, Mainland, and Taiwan Mandarin was just published in the international journal Lexicography: Journal of ASIALEX. It explains how frequency, tone sandhi and syllabicity affect haplology in Hong Kong Cantonese, Mainland Mandarin and Taiwan Mandarin. https://bit.ly/3a68777

A related paper on this topic that Sammi Wong was involved in researching was also published in Chinese Linguistics漢語學報, a leading linguistics journal in China. https://bit.ly/3dixILQ
