Congratulations to Prof. William S-Y. Wang (王士元教授), Chair Professor of the Department of Chinese & Bilingual Studies (CBS), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU), on receiving the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Chicago. Being one of the five honorary degree recipients who are pioneers in different professional disciplines from around the world, Prof. Wang is recognized for his tremendous contributions to the studies of language evolution and the emergence of new languages.
Prof. Wang received the honorary degree at the convocation of the University of Chicago on 9 June 2018.
