Biography

Professor Jianfu (Jeff) Shen holds a Ph.D. from The University of Hong Kong, complemented by a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Renmin University of China. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) charterholder, his research is positioned at the intersection of infrastructure, finance, and sustainability. His interdisciplinary program examines the economic, financial, and policy frameworks essential for developing sustainable and intelligent built environments. Core areas of focus include green infrastructure, green finance, climate risk, and data-informed project delivery. Professor Shen’s work, supported by competitive external and internal grants, advances the core mission of developing resilient, financially viable, and technologically adaptive infrastructure systems.
