Biography

Prof. Fan received her Ph.D. degree in Real Estate Economics and Management from Tsinghua University and her bachelor’s in Construction Management from Southeast University. Prior to joining the Department of Building and Real Estate as an Assistant Professor of Economics, she was a research fellow at the National University of Singapore and a visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her major research interests are in urban economics, real estate economics, and economic policy. Her research employs empirical investigations and equilibrium optimization to analyze underlying mechanisms and inform policy design, addressing critical topics such as urban renewal and microstructure, urban dynamics under platform economy, public housing systems and city welfare, as well as inclusive and resilient urban growth.
