What are the aims of Academic Advising System?
Academic advising at PolyU aims to help students to make informed and intelligent academic decisions/choices about their study at PolyU that suit their intellectual, professional and personal goals.
Two-tier Academic Advising Systems @ PolyU
There are two components in the academic advising system at PolyU:
- Department-based Academic Advising (Primarily for matters related to major programme and career)
- Institutional level Academic Advising by the Student Affair Office (SAO) (primarily for matters related to GUR)

Academic Advising @ BME
Arrangement
Every undergraduate student admitted to 4-year BME programme will be assigned to one academic staff who will act as his/her Academic Advisor throughout his/her course of study at PolyU. The Department will introduce the Academic Advising System and the academic advisors to new students in Year 1 orientation programme.
Academic Advising @ SAO
Who is your Academic Advising Officer in SAO?
Ms. Masaki NG (Tel: 34008204; Email: masaki.ng@polyu.edu.hk) has been assigned to BME Undergraduate Student.
Students can make an appointment with your Academic Advising Officer in SAO via Academic Advising Appointment System. It is a quick and convenient way to find your Academic Advising Officer’s first available time in the coming two weeks.
