Research Assistant Professor

Biography

Dr Frank Ye is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His primary research interest concerns psychometrics and cross-cultural studies. His areas of expertise include research methods and advanced statistics. As an earlier career researcher, Frank’s main lines of empirical research focus on measuring individual differences in cultural perceptions, stigmatised identities, and dehumanisation towards minorities.

 

Frank received his PhD in Psychology from EdUHK in 2020. Before that, Frank obtained his Master’s degree in Psychology in 2015 and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2011. During his 4-year PhD training, Frank was supervised by Dr Emma E. Buchtel and conducted several studies regarding how people from Hong Kong and mainland China see each other’s culture and identities. He also developed a strong interest in open science and advanced statistics.
