4-year Undergraduate Curriculum Structure

PolyU’s 4-year undergraduate curriculum provides a broad-based education to complement the strong professional orientation of our programmes. All students must complete successfully a minimum of 120 credits including the 'Discipline Specific Requirements' (DSR) and 'General University Requirements' (GUR) in order to graduate. For GUR, students are required to take 30 credits with six components, namely

  • Freshman Seminar (3 credits)
  • Language and Communication Requirements (9 credits)
  • Leadership and Intra-Personal Development (3 credits)
  • Cluster Area Requirements (12 credits)
  • Service-Learning (3 credits)
  • Healthy Lifestyle (0 credit)

Apart from that, students can take subjects of their chosen discipline/ major under a variety of academic programmes to suit their interests and aspirations.
