Competence in Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Workstation Assessment

Course Objectives:
This course aims at introducing the legal requirement on the safe use of display screen equipment (DSE), basic knowledge on musculoskeletal problems associated with DSE users, use of DSE workstation in an ergonomically manner, and practical methods in carrying out DSE workstation assessment. Personnel who have completed this course are competent in performing risk assessment on DSE workstations.
 
Target Group(s):
All PolyU staff members who are interested in risk assessment associated with the use of display screen equipment and are delegated by their corresponding departments.

Briefing on The Use of First Aid Box and Public Access Defibrillator Program in PolyU

Course Objectives:
This briefing aims at introducing the provisions of first aid box in departments, the use of first aid items and the existing campus arrangement of the public access defibrillation program.
 
Target Group(s):
Responsible persons for departmental first aid boxes and any other PolyU staff members who are interested in the use of first aid items and the provision of AEDs on campus.

Assessing Risk of your Workplace
 
Topics:

  1. Introduction to risk management and risk assessment
  2. Principles of risk assessment and its application
  3. Using the HSE Form 14 for assessing health and safety risks of your workplaces

Course objectives:
This course equips attendees with hazard identification and risk assessment skills so as to facilitate effective health and safety risk management in workplace. 
 
Target group(s):
Personnel who are responsible for assessing risks of the workplaces should take this training.  Any other personnel who are interested in workplace risk assessment are also welcome to attend this training.
 
The Health & Safety Committee has launched a risk assessment program which requires all departments to assess risks of their workplaces using HSE Form 14, and submit a risk register (HSE form 14A) to HSEO.  This training is designed to enable the departments to perform this assessment.

Briefing for Purchasing Delegates on the Central Chemical Purchasing System – Class A13

Course Objectives:
This course aims at introducing the Central Chemical Purchasing System effective since 01 October 2016 for chemical users so that they can purchase hazardous chemicals under a close monitoring of DGMT. Chemical Purchasing Delegates are required to complete this course with satisfactory results in order to complete the registration and obtain eligibility for raising chemical purchase request to DGMT.
 
Target Group(s):
All PolyU staff members who are required to purchase chemicals.
