The degree of convenience in campus accessibility is one of the key elements which determine a sustainable campus. PolyU devotes to building an ‘easy-to-walk’ campus, allowing the entire university community to reduce unnecessary use of energy when going to their destinations.
Walkways on PolyU campus extend in all directions. Staff and student population, as well as members of the community can get round conveniently without relying on anytransportation means.
Wide smooth walkways branch out through woods and plants on campus which provides a pleasant green environment to everyone while commuting.
PolyU encourages greater uptake of walking and use less elevator or escalator to stay healthy and reduce carbon emission.
PolyU continuously expands, incorporating environmentally friendly and innovative architectural designs to build a walk-friendly and green campus.
Once the redevelopment works are completed, Block X will serve as the connection between Main Campus, Jockey Club Innovation Tower and Block Z and bring bigger convenience to all who move around. The new Block X also provides landscaped recreational space and pleasant greenery areas which enhance the walking experience of the PolyU community.
