(13-24 Mar 2017) ECO-MATERIAL @ MRC X OOOBJECT exhibition

PolyU features ECO METERIAL exhibition for its first time

The problem of sustainable development is challenging designers, manufacturers and consumers reconsidering ecological values and operating / manufacturing methods. ‘Eco-Material’ is a key element for the design industry and it is influential to the manufacturing methods of products.

Leftover materials from the agricultural industry such as nutshells, seeds from fruits, coffee grounds, fruit waste or potato peels have been discovered as new sources for the production of new materials. Living things, especially fish bone, lobster shell, and shrimp peels are essential sources for bio-plastics. This brings forth new challenges, and, at the same time, opens completely new opportunities.

The ECO-MATERIAL @ MRC X OOOBJECT exhibition aims to meet and involve designers, companies and producers raising awareness and considering the importance of using environmentally friendly materials for the creation of new inspiring products.
