Aerospace Propulsion and Combustion

a1137_2050x500

The ability to tame fire has fundamentally distinguished human beings from other creatures on earth. Combustion is humankind's oldest technology and still plays a critical role in daily life, from domestic gas stoves to hypersonic vehicles. Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fundamental combustion science and exploring advanced combustion technologies, paving the way to developing cleaner, safer, and more powerful aerospace propulsion systems.

Key Research Areas:

  1. Hypersonic air-breathing propulsion
  2. Detonation engine
  3. Supersonic combustion
  4. Multiphase flows
  5. Turbulent mixing
  6. Combustion instability
