Join the Social Innovation Festival to ignite positive social change

On 27 September, the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C. DISI) of PolyU opened its first signature event – “10-Day” Social Innovation Festival. Themed “Making a change in 10 days”, the Festival features creative installations and exhibitions, live band performances, documentary film shows, public lectures and workshops. Through engagement in these activities, participants are encouraged to drive changes in their own communities by collective innovation and make a difference in society.

The ceremony began with the “Ageless Catwalk” featuring silver age models in outfits created by young local fashion designers in an effort to redefine fashion for the silver age. Following the opening was a live performance titled “City Inside a Broken Sky” led by artist Mr Kung Chi-shing.

Officiating guests included Mr T. Brian Stevenson, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Mr Soichiro Takashima, Mayor of Fukuoka City, Japan; Ms Marjorie Yang Mun-tak, Council Chairman of PolyU; Prof. Timothy W. Tong, President of PolyU; and Prof. Cees de Bont, Dean of PolyU School of Design. Details>>
