| PolyU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, in collaboration with seven engineering institutions, local universities and government department, organized the first Engineering Week in Hong Kong from 5 to 13 March. One of the flagship events was the International Conference on Advanced Technology in Energy for a Better Environment held at PolyU on 7 March. Speaking at the Conference were Mr Edward Yau, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government, and Prof. Timothy Tong, PolyU President and Chairman of the International Conference Organizing Committee.
