Delivering Mobile Learning via Blackboard: Lessons from the UAE

Nick Nunnington, a former Associate Vice Provost of the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), made a presentation to PolyU on September 26, 2013. He discussed the integrated online/mobile learning environment he had developed in the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE, and the success of his approach to transformational change management skills, which achieved the following strategic pedagogical objectives:

• Greater engagement of students through interactive, varied  and focused content enhanced blended learning
• Encouraging a “flipped classroom” with a large proportion of knowledge acquisition and learning taking place outside the classroom
• Facilitating mobile learning (from Blackboard to publishers environments) reliably on to ANY mobile device
