eLearning at the RS Retreat

E-learning was the focus at the recent Department of Rehabilitation Sciences Retreat in Discovery Bay.

The day was most productive with RS staff showing much enthusiasm for advancing their use of e-learning in various presentations.

A particularly interesting discussion took place with Clinical Assistants and Instructors from Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. This looked at the potential for Blackboard to be used more during clinical placements to provide access to resources and communications. The Journal tool in Blackboard was considered a viable tool to use for students to reflect on their clinical placement experience.

Raymond Tsang and Samuel Chan, from MMRC and the Haven of Hope gave perspectives on e-learning from the Hospital Authority and Community Services. Jenny Evans and Hennie Yip from PolyU’s E-learning Development and Support Section also made a presentation on the effective use of the LMS (Blackboard) as well as facilitating and participating in discussions.
