Hello, this is Heidi, majoring in Fashion and Textiles (Technology). Before getting into PolyU, I was a Business (Non - Specialism) student at HKCC. Being a senior intake student, I felt quite anxious about my study pattern and my university life. Thanks to the SYA ambassadors, they created the SYP website for freshmen. The SYA resources website is extremely useful and updated for me. It includes information about SYA student’s top concerns. After surfing the Freshmen Q & A, I got a broad picture of the adaptation into the new environment and university life. I also joined the online orientation which was held by SYA ambassadors. They shared their year 3 university life and taught us how to choose the subjects to fulfil our study pattern and GUR requirements. Besides, I also participated in the “Internationalization at Home'' & “Peer Mentorship Programme” which were organised by the SYA Project Team. By joining such activities that are targeted at SYA’s students, I had explored my friendzone and much more easily adapted to university life under the teaching mode of online learning. This year, I am one of the SYA ambassadors. I wish that I can be the one to help the incoming freshmen to adapt to their university life.
