Why do we have the sense of depth and 3D vision?

Description / Introduction:

Dr Patrick Ting from the School of Optometry, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is invited to deliver a STEM talk at HKSciFest 2019.

Why do we have 3D vision? How VR works and 3D movies work? Why even a picture on a wall can give you the “sense” of 3D? In this talk participants learnt the theory behind the “sense” of 3D, which technically should be called the depth perception. How are our eyes or brain process the depth information? Participants could also find it out from this STEM talk.
