BSE Seminar: Self-cleaning Highly Aqueous Dispersed Heat Insulation Functional Coating for Glass

Description / Introduction:

Nowadays, glazing materials have been widely used to replace conventional building envelopes for the purpose of aesthetic and lightning in modern buildings. The large area glazing materials on roofs and curtain walls will lead to the dramatic increase of electricity consumption of air-conditioning system, resulting in high energy use. For example, heat gain through the glass windows can be over 10 times higher than that of the external walls. In addition, if not being cleaned very frequently, the glass accumulates dust and influence its aesthetic. Therefore, our group in the Department of Building Services Engineering developed a new multi-functional coating formula with both superior thermal insulation property and self-cleaning property. Details would be explained in the Seminar.
