‘Borderless Lab365: A student-centered learning science experiment platform to enhance STEM education for secondary students’

Description / Introduction:

The Department of Applied Physics of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has successfully applied for a QEF project named ‘Borderless Lab365: A student-centered learning science experiment platform to enhance STEM education for secondary students’ in March 2019. The objectives of the 2-year project are:

1. To implement a teaching and learning platform that utilizes the remote-laboratory system and mobile Apps programme.
2. To devise teaching materials and assignments with guidelines on report writing for DSE science experiments, utilizing the developed Apps programme as well as the remote experiments as the measurement tool.
3. To assess the impact of introducing project-based learning on students’ motivation in science studies and their understanding in specific science topics.

The kick-off meeting was conducted on 12 June 2019. The project team introduced the project and the experiments developed.
