Undergraduate Student Research Competition @ IMPACT2026
The Undergraduate Student Research Competition aims to showcase undergraduate students' theoretical knowledge and research skills and to extend their knowledge in hospitality, tourism, event management and other related fields.

The winners will be invited to attend and present their work at the IMPACT2026 conference, which will be held at PolyU from 6 to 8 December 2026.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students currently enrolled in universities offering hospitality and tourism programmes worldwide or recent graduates (within one year of graduation) with an undergraduate degree from such universities are eligible to participate in this competition. Although supervision of the research by a faculty member is acceptable, the student must be the first author.

Awards
  • Best Paper Award (one paper)*: One travel grant of up to HK$10,000, along with complimentary conference registration, will be awarded to cover travel costs to Hong Kong and related expenses for the paper presentation at the IMPACT2026 conference.
  • First Runner-up Award (two papers)*: One travel grant of up to HK$5,000, along with complimentary conference registration, will be awarded to cover travel costs to Hong Kong and related expenses for the paper presentation at the IMPACT2026 conference.
* The paper review committee reserves the right to select fewer than one winner for the Best Paper Award and fewer than two winners for the First Runner-up Award, depending on the quality of the submissions. All prizes will be awarded exclusively to students.

Submission Requirements

All submissions must be written in English and formatted according to APA guidelines. Each submission must be a full article (4,000 (± 500) words) presenting a thorough research and including a title, abstract, keywords, figures, tables and references.

Submissions are accepted via EasyChair Platform.

Important Dates
  • Submission of papers: 30 September 2026
  • Notification of results: 31 October 2026
