ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECOGNITION
SHTM staff members had considerable success in obtaining major publicly funded competitive research grants this year.

The General Research Fund of the Research Grants Council (RGC) will provide funding for Professor Haiyan Song's project "Are Search Queries Useful in Tourism Demand Forecasting? A Time Varying Parameter Mixed-Data Sampling Approach", Dr Sabrina Huang and Dr Mimi Li's project "Conflicts or Social Integration? Use of Urban Public Space by Residents, Tourists, and Foreign Domestic Helpers in Hong Kong" and Dr Henry Tsai's project "Assessing the Performance of Hotels in the Greater Bay Area: Proposing an Integrated Three-stage Data Envelopment Analysis Model". The RGC's Early Career Scheme will fund Dr Neil Li and Professor Haiyan Song's project "Monitoring and Forecasting Tourism Demand Using Online Search Traffic and Social Media Data".
Dr Sangwon Park and D.HTM student Mr Minh Nguyen have obtained a research grant from the National Research Foundation of Korea for their study entitled "K-lifestyle Co-creation of Young Vietnamese Consumers: Focused on Millennials and Z Generation".
Professor Cathy Hsu has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Management, the top hospitality and tourism journal. Five other international scholarly journals in the field are also edited from the School, including the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, the International Journal of Event and Festival Management, the Journal of China Tourism Research, the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing and Tourism, Culture & Communication.
The School would like to thank airDefender International Company Limited and New Focus Textiles Limited for their generosity in donating reusable masks to SHTM staff members. On 14 July, Dean Kaye Chon welcomed Mr Ronnie Cheng and representatives from these companies to the School.
