Dean Prof. Kun-pyo Lee, Associate Dean Prof. Henry Duh, and Internationalisation Advisor Prof. Stefan Sonntag recently concluded a fruitful visit to Europe, where they engaged with some of the continent’s most prestigious design institutions. During their trip, they were warmly hosted by the Royal College of Art (RCA), the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, Central Saint Martins (CSM), London College of Communication (LCC) of University of the Arts London, and École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) of Université Paris Sciences et Lettres.

The visit focused on exploring meaningful opportunities for collaboration in areas such as research partnerships, double degree programmes, student exchanges, study trips, and summer camps. These discussions reflect a shared commitment to advancing global design education and fostering cross-cultural academic exchange. A highlight of the trip was the signing of an Academic Collaboration Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ENSAD, and an extended student exchange agreement with LCC—both marking significant milestones in PolyU Design’s internationalisation efforts.

This journey not only deepened institutional ties but also laid the groundwork for innovative, globally connected design education that empowers future generations of creative leaders. Its success was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the entire management team at PolyU Design, its European collaborators, and the invaluable support of the British Consulate-General Hong Kong.
