Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Laboratory

Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Laboratory (NRL) is situated in the campus of PolyU and was established in 2000 to support teaching and research of people with neuropsychiatric disorders and other psychosocial dysfunctions. It consists of a group therapy room where a range of psycho-educational programs may be conducted. Students may observe demonstrations through the one-way mirror in the behavioural observation room and closed-circuit TV system. The laboratory is also equipped with advanced neuro-cognitive computer systems to provide cognitive remediation training (CRT) to people with various forms of psychoses. CRT is regarded as an augmentation strategy in a number of funded projects on supported employment by the department. The proposed Polygraph section supports the physiologic assessment of a serious of research projects on mindful exercise.
