The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and New Hua Du Technology Co Ltd. (New Hua Du) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 July to establish the AI Digital Marketing Joint Lab, marking a significant advancement in industry-academia partnerships focused on smart marketing and artificial intelligence.
The Joint Lab will leverage PolyU’s leading research in multimodal large-scale models, intelligent data mining, and consumer behaviour analysis, combined with New Hua Du’s expertise in brand operations, digital marketing, and new retail. This collaboration aims to explore innovative AI applications in consumer behaviour prediction, personalised recommendations, content generation, and market insights.
During the ceremony, Prof. Lik-Hang LEE, Assistant Professor of the PolyU Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering introduced the lab’s inaugural research project, which will focus on AI-driven brand interaction and smart retail solutions. It aims to equip businesses with precise market insights and efficient decision-making capabilities. This partnership not only accelerates the industrialisation of AI technologies but also serves as a key platform for fostering marketing tech innovation and talent development. It is poised to significantly drive digital transformation for businesses in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
