YIRA goes beyond being merely an award, it serves as a springboard for young researchers under 35 who have reached significant research milestones and spearheaded transformative innovations. We honour those who aspire to make a difference, turning ambitious visions into tangible solutions that address societal challenges with ingenuity and insight. Why Apply?

As a YIRA awardee, you will receive:

• Research funding of HK$500,000
• A personal cash prize of HK$20,000
• Nomination opportunities by PolyU for MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific or equivalent 
• Media exposure and promotion
• Award plaque
