2018 BIO International Convention & Study Mission

PolyU ITDO joined the Hong Kong Biotechnology Delegation as an exhibitor of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the 2018 BIO International Convention held in Boston, Massachusetts, and a delegate of the business mission to visit biotech companies, research institutes and industry associations. The delegation is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization.

BIO is the one of the world’s largest events for the biotech industry which attracts more than 16,000 attendees each year from thousands of companies including the leading biotech companies, top pharma companies, academic institutions, research labs and government agencies to discuss the latest advances in the field of biotechnology and to explore collaboration opportunities. RIO showcased PolyU's capabilities in drug discovery, development & delivery, biomedical engineering, medical devices & diagnostics, rehabilitation sciences, optometry and ophthalmology, biological imaging, and other research expertise and sought new opportunities for global partnerships. We also schedule one-on-one partnering meetings with key industry leaders at the convention.

We participated the business mission to visit biotech companies, research institutes and industry associations to exchange expertise and best practices. Institutes visited in the 2018 mission include:
-          Boston Biomedical Inc.
-          Myomo Inc.-         
-          Chinese-American Biomedical Association (CABA)
-          Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research
-          MIT Hacking Medicine
