Systems approach using rigid procedures and techniques to define a data/processing problem, generally used in computer implemenations, has four (4) phases:
1) Lexical Phase: Identifying problem, boundaries/constraints
2) Parsing Phase: Identifying relationship between entities/elements of the system.
3) Modelling Phase: Using GIS to address the identified problem.
4) Analysis Phase: validation and testing of Model.
