About PolyYES 2016
PolyYouth Entrepreneurship Symposium (PolyYES) 2016 is a 3-day highly interactive and intensive programme for young people from Hong Kong and overseas to be held in 26 – 28 July 2016. The theme this year is “Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and the Future", which focuses on engaging students to understand how entrepreneurship can be employed to tackle the world's sustainability issues. The 3-day programme covers a wide range of activities from entrepreneur/expert sharing and skill workshops to experiential activities and networking sessions. It will provide a platform for young minds to learn, be inspired, gain insights into entrepreneurship and its relationship with sustainability, and develop the skills and qualities of an entrepreneur.
We believe entrepreneurship is a mindset that applies to every aspect of our lives, a mindset that goes beyond starting up an enterprise. Entrepreneurship is about creating new goals and identifying ways to secure the necessary resources to fulfill them. Thinking like an entrepreneur isn’t an inborn quality, but something that anyone can do through constant effort and determination.
As future players in the global business world, developing an entrepreneurial mindset is more important than ever. It is applicable to students of all disciplines (arts, business, science, engineering, computing, design etc), and whether they are employers or employees in the future. We hope PolyYES will serve as a platform for young people to broaden their knowledge beyond classroom context, expand their network and explore their entrepreneurial potential.
