How it works

One year in Hong Kong. One year in Singapore.

You complete the biopharmaceutical core at PolyU, then move to Nanyang Technological University to build the data science half of the qualification.

Year 1

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Hung Hom, Hong Kong

The biopharmaceutical foundation: biologics and protein engineering, cell and gene therapies, clinical trials, drug approval, patenting strategy and market entry — the scientific, legal and financial complexities of drug commercialization.

Year 2

Nanyang Technological University

Singapore

The MSc in Biomedical Data Science at NTU: the analytical and computational methods that now drive target discovery, trial design, real-world evidence and commercial decision-making across the sector.

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in biological/life sciences, chemistry, biomedical sciences/engineering, health science, or a related discipline.

Please refer to the Admission Requirements section for details.

Tuition

Costed across two institutions

Because the degree spans two universities, tuition is charged in two parts — the PolyU component in Hong Kong dollars and the NTU component in Singapore dollars.

Living costs, travel between Hong Kong and Singapore, and visa fees are not included.

PolyU component
HK$176,400

HK$8,400 per credit × 21 credits

NTU component
SGD 63,595

Charged by NTU for the Year 2 programme

Why the combination

Biopharma runs on data now

Development decisions that were once made on intuition are made on evidence — and the people who can read both the biology and the dataset are rare.

  • Two credentials from two internationally recognised universities.
  • Two markets — a professional network in Hong Kong and in Singapore.
  • Scarce skill pairing of therapeutic development with data science.
  • Regional mobility across two of Asia's leading biotech hubs.
