Competing against the representatives of four other universities from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia, we are thrilled to see that Dr Fridolin Ting has been selected as the Gold Award winner of the Exemplary Teaching and Learning Award – an award that aims to recognise best practices in the effective use of pedagogically driven technology for teaching and learning.

Prof. Eric Tsui scooped a prestigious Platinum Award in the category “F2F Classroom Training Transfer to Virtual Classroom Training Initiative” at Australia’s LearnX Live! Awards 2020.

Dr Fridolin Ting and his team received the Bronze Award for YoTeach! A Backchannel Chat App with Machine Learning for Symbol and Math Handwriting Recognition for use in STEM and non-STEM Subjects.

At EduTech Asia Awards 2019, Dr Fridolin Ting won the Silver Award in Ed Tech Leader (Tertiary) category. In addition, his team of UGC Teaching and Learning Pedagogic and Active Learning Mobile Solutions (PALMS) Project was presented with the Gold Award and the Silver Award in the categories of the Best Classroom Technology Solution and the Best EdTech Solution respectively.

Dr Shirley Ngai is among the first academics from Hong Kong to receive The National Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education) for her great contributions to enhance the confidence of her students in the real clinical scenarios, including converting the classroom into a simulated “ward” to allow students applying their professional knowledge in a “simulated” clinical setting.
