The IPAO team, led by Director Ms Karen JIANG were excited to have participated in the three-day THE Asia Universities Summit held on June 21 - 23. The Summit theme, 'The Future Asian University in 2050', brought together over 500 academic leaders from around the world to share their insights on the reasons behind the rise in representation of Asian universities in the THE World University Rankings over the past five years and to discuss the future of higher education in the new age.
Prof. Xiang-dong LI, Chair Professor of Environmental Science and Technology and Dean of the Faculty of Construction and Environment of PolyU, joined the roundtable lunch workshop with Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics, and other representatives in the field, to share his insights on how current evaluation methods can be improved to reflect research practice, ensure the responsible use of metrics, and balance quantitative and qualitative approaches.
We warmly congratulate Dr Catherine CHEUNG, Associate Dean and Associate Professor of the PolyU School of Hotel and Tourism Management, and her team for winning the International Strategy of the Year award at the THE Awards Asia 2023. The award recognises the remarkable success of the tripartite Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business programme in establishing institutional partnerships and adopting a globally-focused approach to education.
