PolyU takes leading position in six disciplines and one broad subject area in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has attained remarkable results in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2022, with three disciplines ranked first in Hong Kong, and six disciplines and one broad subject area ranked among the top 50 in the world. Various Engineering-related disciplines also demonstrated a significant leap from last year.

PolyU shortlisted for Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2022

PolyU was shortlisted as one of the eight candidates for the category of “Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year” in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2022. 

PolyU among top 20 in Asian university webometrics ranking

PolyU ranked 19th among Asia’s tertiary institutions in the latest 2022 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, which is compiled by researchers from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

The International Student Barometer and Student Barometer (ISB/SB) 2021 Results Presentation

Institutional Planning and Analytics Office (IPAO) organized the International Student Barometer and Student Barometer (ISB/SB) 2021 results presentation on 23 March 2021 and was attended by around 70 participants.

PolyU leaps to No. 5 in THE Young University Rankings

PolyU is pleased that the University has leapt from 12th to 5th place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2022. As a young university, PolyU has stepped up efforts to equip its students with the necessary skills to meet future challenges, while continuing to strive for excellence in the areas of education, research and knowledge transfer.

Knowledge transfer gains HK$800M for PolyU

At PolyU, the income from knowledge transfer increased to HK$800 million from HK$690 million last year.

PolyU granted HK$10 billion for next three years

According to the papers submitted to the Legislative Council by the Education Bureau, the total funding granted to the University Grants Committee-funded sector has increased by 4.5% to about HK$63.2 billion for 2022 to 2025. PolyU has been granted approximately HK$10 billion for the next triennium, the third highest among the eight UGC-funded universities. The University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong received the most funding, with HK$14.7 billion and HK$13.8 billion respectively.

PolyU’s education innovations receive global awards

PolyU’s efforts in pursuing learning and teaching excellence were again recognised by the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Reimagine Education Awards. Two winning teams respectively led by Professor Daniel Shek, Associate Vice President (Undergraduate Programme) of PolyU, and Dr Fridolin Ting, Senior Teaching Fellow at the Department of Applied Mathematics of PolyU, received one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze prize in the 2021 Awards.
