Hotel ICON Celebrates Official Opening with Inspiring Design Conference and Gala Dinner

A host of industry leaders, internationally-renowned designers, staff, alumni and friends of PolyU gathered at Hotel ICON – a unique teaching and research hotel wholly-owned by the university – to celebrate its official opening.

Special Lecture by Former UNWTO Secretary General

Professor Francesco Frangialli, former Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), current President of the UNWTO Sustainable Tourism for Elimination of Poverty (STEP) Foundation and Honorary Professor of the SHTM, gave a special lecture on "Tourism for the Least Developed Countries and Very Poor Regions – 10 Years of Experience" to SHTM students on 23 September 2011.

PolyU Releases Report on 2011 Tourist Satisfaction Index

The SHTM has recently released the PolyU Tourist Satisfaction Index (PolyU TSI). This year's PolyU TSI stood at 72.61, indicating that inbound tourists are generally satisfied with the services they received during visits to Hong Kong.

2012 Hong Kong PolyU Winter School®

The Hong Kong PolyU Winter School is an annual programme designed to cater to the needs of senior managers in the hospitality industry. Co-organised by the SHTM and the Hong Kong Hotels Association, and sponsored by the Pacific Asia Travel Association, Hotel ICON and the Institute of Hospitality, the 2012 Hong Kong PolyU Winter School® will be held on 6-18 February 2012.
