The annual SHTM Career Day provides an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to gather information about potential employers in the hospitality and tourism industry. The SHTM Career Day 2011 was held on 23 March in the new SHTM premises.

PolyU recently received a $2 million donation from Dr Hari N. Harilela for the establishment of the Padma and Hari Harilela Scholarship at the SHTM.

The 9th annual Hong Kong PolyU Winter School, an Executive Development Programme co-organised by the SHTM and the Hong Kong Hotels Association, and sponsored by the Pacific Asia Travel Association, the Royal Garden and the Institute of Hospitality, was held over two weeks from 17 to 29 January.
