Visit to The Helena May

The Helena May visit absolutely has made the perfect start for my re-joining the SHTM family activities after long years.

The warm welcoming and courtesy (of course we are the SHTM student and that is what we have always learnt) by our caring organizing committee and alumni was shown not only to me but extended also to my friends joining the visit, even they are not one of our alumni.

The Helena May building is always one of the most 'mysterious' in town. It has not been opened to the public until recent years and it is much more pleasurable not only to revisit the historical building but one more time, revisiting the good old time of SHTM with all the alumni.

The introduction and the tour was indeed conducted by one of our alumni, Ms Betty Simpson the General Manager of The Helena May. It once again impresses me how strong the SHTM alumni network is. (We are everywhere ~)

The visit was ended with a absolutely elegant though warm & cosy tea session under the absolutely elegant environment and with all our absolutely elegant and loving alumni. Only one question unanswered, when will be the next gathering we will have?

It was my privilege to have the opportunity in an inspiring and educational visit at The Helena May on 25 October 2014. During the visit, I am enthused by the tour given by Ms. Betty Simpson, the General Manager of The Helena May. She has led the participants on a sensory trip to the past history of such attractive historical establishment. Whilst the guided tour truly denotes The Helena May team’s unremitting efforts in preserving and revitalizing this unique heritage, I am particularly impressed with their strong and continued commitment in enhancing community engagement.

The visit was successfully concluded with the engaging conversations from our participants which I have gauged their exchanged views in strengthening hospitality management and accumulating our joint efforts in promoting heritage conservation in Hong Kong.

A Fruitful experience for me and those participated.

Visiting heritage site and historic monument is always an enjoyable and delightful activity. The visit to Helena May on 25 October 2014 was really an eye-opening one. Special thanks to Ms Betty Simpson, the General Manager of The Helena May for all the wonderful arrangements, from guiding us around this unique structure to providing so many delicious authentic English snacks. It not only leaves us unforgettable impression of this well-preserved heritage building, but also showed us how the spirit and culture could be carried on through continuous devotion in various community services. We look forward to arrange more and more such cultural tours to our members in future.

One Day Tour to Hong Kong Geo Park

The nature is full of Uncanny/Superlative Craftsmanship.

I believe Construction Engineering Work starts with destroying something existing, resulting in creating something new, and may accidentally find something amazing when you uncover it.

I would like to express a big thank you to the Alumni committee for their effort made to arrange such a good tour for us. We met lots of new friends, had a nice walk and enjoyed good food that day. It was a wonderful experience indeed. Thank you very much.
