A greener Education Info Day

The annual ‘PolyU Education Info Day 2017’ was held on 30 September 2017. As the University’s largest public event on campus involving more than 50 departments and units, the event staged a broad range of activities, such as exhibitions, admissions talks, information seminars, and consultation sessions.

As early as in the planning stage, departmental and administrative staff involved in the Info Day were mindful about taking measures to reduce the environmental impacts of the event. Attention was drawn to use resources wisely and to reduce the amount of waste produced. Organizers were reminded to use durable and reusable materials, furniture and items for their activities and avoid plastic bottled water. To echo the recent PaperReduction@PolyU campaign, the University introduced a brand new Info Day mobile application and website, which successfully demonstrated how electronic technology could effectively replace traditional printed materials and generate bigger impact.
