Accelerating Green Office transformation

PolyU launched the first-ever Green PolyU Awards – Green Office programme in mid-2016 to progress more collective and impactful actions to drive sustainability on campus. It also strengthens the University’s existing network of Departmental Green Officers.

Various workshops, seminars and visit were held successfully in 2016. They provided precious opportunities to participants and Departmental Green Officers to learn interactively. They shared their green practices and acquired knowledge about how to add green elements to their workplace and daily life.

  • Workshop on Green Efficiency and Staff Engagement on 5 December 2016
  • Visit to Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Limited Office on 12 October 2016
  • Seminar on Waste Management and Green Procurement – How to integrate 3Rs in your daily office operation on 20 September 2016
  • Seminar on Climate Change – Impacts to our Daily Life on 12 July 2016

This programme has received encouraging responses and enthusiastic support. About 30 offices and units registered into the Phase One assessment to take up the ‘green office’ challenge over a period of four months. They proposed areas in their workplaces for green office establishment with practical targets to reach, measured against a reasonably drawn baseline assessment.
