Programme Objectives

The programme aims to introduce to students from Hong Kong to get to know the history and culture of northeast China and at the same time leveraging on the research strength in space science and technology of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), participants will be able to learn more about recent development in space technology in China.

Features

Students will have the chance to visit the renowned Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, join various cultural visits (Central Avenue and St. Sophia Cathedral) to immerse themselves in Sino-Russian culture.

You will be given the opportunity to visit one of the top universities in China, and to visit their space technology research laboratories, and meet new friends from other sister tertiary institutions from Hong Kong and Macao and HIT.

- Visit The Museum of Evidence of War Crimes by Japanese Army Unit 731 (侵華日軍第七三一部隊罪證陳列館), The Northeast Martyrs Memorial (東北烈士紀念館)

- Visit 三五將軍文化博物館and the Harbin Ice and Snow World (哈爾濱冰雪大世界)

Programme Fee

HK $2,500
  • Local travel and accommodation
  • Some meals will be included
  • Basic travel insurance (Students are advised to purchase additional insurance deemed necessary)
  • Tickets for selected tourist sites
  • Students are to furnish an Outbound Activity Fee of HK$2,500 upon confirmation of nomination by CMAO. The fee is non-refundable;
  • PolyU will make group travel arrangements (fixed date outbound & inbound)
  • A special subsidy of HK$1,000 will be provided by PolyU for each participant who has satisfactorily fulfilled the requirement of the activity.

Eligibility

  • Registered Full-time undergraduate (not including the exchange students) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University;
  • As stipulated by the MOE HK, Macau and Mainland University Students Exchange Funding Scheme (教育部港澳與內地高校師生交流計劃), and at the request of our partner university, priority will be given to students’ with permanent HKID.
