DEPARTMENT OF FOOD SCIENCE AND NUTRITION 143 Research Overview Dr Cheng’s research interests are in the areas of chrononutrition, immunology and neuroscience. Her group focuses on developing novel dietary strategies for treating neuroinflammation, chronodisruption (e.g. shift-work/jet lag) and its related diseases; as well as studying the underlying mechanisms involved. Focuses of research: 1. Studying the molecular mechanisms and effects of systemic inflammation on neuroinflammation and its interplay with circadian rhythms 2. Developing novel dietary strategies for treating/preventing neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases 3. Identifying novel dietary strategies for combating chronodisruption and its related diseases Representative Publications • Carbohydr. Polym. 2021, 267, 118216 • Food Res.
