Join us for a special event on 18 July 2025 as we launch our Doctor of Business Management programme.

We are excited to announce the launch of this pioneering programme, meticulously designed to cultivate young ‘scholar-leaders’. We are seeking individuals with little or no working experience who are ready to learn how to apply scientific thinking and sound business knowledge to solve real-world business and management challenges.

To mark this special occasion, we are hosting an insightful programme information seminar. The seminar will include two engaging doctoral open lectures.

Blockchain technology has generated immense interest and investment across various industries, widely recognised as a disruptive innovation capable of mitigating operational risks and revolutionising traditional business practices. Yes, its decentralised nature has sparked a crucial debate: does it truly enhance cybersecurity, or does it introduce new risks?

This lecture will explore this critical question by presenting compelling research that examines the real effects of blockchain implementation on cybersecurity risks. It will uncover surprising insights into how blockchain adoption can have unexpected, dual-edged implications for a firm’s cybersecurity, initially increasing data breach risks – especially those originating from within the organisation – but leading to a decrease in these risks over time as firms adapt. Notably, attendees will learn how external breach risks show an earlier reduction. This lecture promises to offer valuable insights into navigating the complex and evolving landscape of blockchain and its impact on cybersecurity.
