My BBA Journey in Faculty of Business

 

Eligibility

  • Year 1 to 3 Faculty of Business (FB) undergraduate students in 2022/23 academic year
  • A student may join the Competition on individual basis or in a team of a maximum of 4 members. All members in a team must be FB undergraduate students.
  • Each student can only join one team.

Contestants working in teams or on their own will be collectively referred to as “Contestant”.

 

Requirements

  1. The video must be no more than 3 minutes long.
  2. The video content must be presented in English.
  3. Any royalty and license issues that may arise from the videos for online and offline use must be cleared before submitting the video entry.
  4. The video entry must not contain any content that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory or slanderous. It must not promote bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, disability or sexual orientation.
  5. The video entry must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Service.

 

Judging

  1. The judging panel for the competition will consist of representatives of the Faculty of Business.
  2. All entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

    • Are the video contents relevant to PolyU FB?
    • Does the video address the theme of the Competition?
    • Are the video contents informative and engaging?

    • Is the video creative and interesting?
    • The video is presented in an original way.
    • The video must be the Contestant’s own works.

    Technical Appeal
    • Does the video run within the 3-minute time limit?
    • Does the video have subtitles? Videos with subtitles in English plus Traditional or Simplified Chinese will score more points.
    • How well is the video in terms of sound quality, editing camera operations, etc?

Awards

  • The top five winning teams will win a study trip to South Korea* in Fall. Details to be announced in due course.
  • All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
  • Submitted videos may be showcased on Faculty of Business/PolyU’s website/social media channels.

* The Faculty reserves the right to change the destination of the study trip without prior notice.

How to submit a video

  1. Upload the video in .mp4 format onto Google Drive.
  2. Create a link for downloading.
  3. Complete this online submission form. Students must indicate the link for video download on the form.

Video entries submission period: 21 August 2023, 6:00 pm (HKT)

Result Announcement: 25 August 2023

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Contestants agree to be bound by the competition rules and decisions of the PolyU/FB judges. The judges’ decision is final.
  • The Contestant shall warrant that the video does not infringe upon the patent or copyright of any third party. In the case of any claim or action brought against the PolyU/FB, its employees or agents alleging infringement of any patent or copyright in respect of the video, the Contestant shall indemnify and hold the PolyU/FB, its employees and agents harmless against all costs and damages arising out of such alleged infringement and undertake to defend or settle such claim or action at the expense of the Contestant.
  • The Contestant shall be responsible for complying with the enactments, orders, regulations or other instruments issued by the Government of HKSAR or other competent authority in Hong Kong. The Contestant shall indemnify PolyU/FB against any penalty, loss or cost arising as a result of the Contestants failure to comply with any of the said enactments, orders, regulations, or other instruments.
  • If any dispute arises between the PolyU/FB and the Contestant in reference to the implementation of this Competition, or any part thereof, PolyU/FB or Contestant may forthwith give to the other party written notice requiring the matter to be referred to a single arbitrator, in accordance with the procedures governed by the Arbitration Ordinance, whose decision shall be final, and binding on the parties. The costs of such reference shall be in the discretion of the arbitrator.
  • The Competition shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong.
  • The Contestant must ensure that the submitted video has been created ethically and they make related declarations in the submission.
