Area of Research
Urban Sustainability and Building Energy Efficiency Retrofit Policy/Project
Research Scope
My research focuses on how to use building energy efficiency retrofit to enhance urban sustainability in environmental, economic and social aspects. By exploring the impacts of building energy efficiency retrofit and the systemic relationships among different impacts, a rational policy framework for building energy efficiency retrofit is aimed to be formed. The framework will furtherly help to identify significant triggers for building energy efficiency retrofit and encourage more stakeholders’ participation and investment. In the future, the frame of this research will be generalised to help in policy-making research for more projects which can enhance urban sustainability.
Research Methodology
My research contains different research methodologies in different steps:
- 1. The potential policy frameworks ofbuilding energy efficiency retrofit will be establishedby literature reviewand expert interview.
- 2. The major methodology of this research is cost-benefit analysis to judge the positive or negative impacts ofeach policy framework;
- 3. To assist the conduction of cost-benefit analysis, various conventional methodologies, including literaturereview, questionnaire survey and in-depth interview, will be used.
- 4. The results will be validated with both the professionals and public byinterview and questionnaire survey.
