: Development of a Clinical Classroom for Professional Practice and Education in Health Care Settings
Description
Student learning manuals were prepared before the teleconference to introduce the project to students. Information regarding the project plan and the teaching schedule, and case notes and general assessment forms were included in the manuals. Students can insert case information into the booklet when information sheets for new cases are available.
Intended educational value
In each teleconference class, a new case will be introduced to students, and they have to fill in the case notes on their own (e.g. problem identified, assessment results, treatment plans) to simulate occupational therapy practice in an actual clinical setting, which helps them to be better equipped for clinical placements and their future work role.
Example of application
The manuals were used with Year 2 students in the tutorial sessions for the subject "Occupational Therapy for Physical Dysfunction I".
