Chow, K., Chan, V. and Ho, A. (2009). Multimedia Rules: Rethinking Design Principles. Hong Kong: School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Intended educational value

This material, which reviews the design principles in three major media forms - still images, moving images and interactive systems forms - will help to develop critical thinking about these principles among users.

Also, tracking the subtle but vital cross-references or links between these principles and their use in students' work can demonstrate the relevance of the principles for contemporary multimedia practice.
