Clinical Educators Course

Description

An intensive four week, mixed mode (a combination of face-to-face and online teaching) course entitled “Facilitating Clinical Education: The Hows and Whys of Managing Workplace Learning” was run from 13 January to 10 February 2007 for training clinical supervisors.
 

Intended educational value

The course adopted an interdisciplinary group work format using the internet for clinical supervisors to address the issues of clinical supervision. A case study was used to exemplify issues to be addressed.
 

Evaluation/Comments

The participants indicated increased confidence and knowledge about online learning and communication skills with students. Most of them recommended this course as a basic requirement for staff to become clinical educators.
