Objectives:
The purpose of the Pre-WIE project is to equip students with proper skill sets, positive attitudes and reasonable expectations in order to prepare them to become good learners who can perform effectively when they participate in WIE work. This can eventually help to bridge the "skills gap". The Pre-WIE programme includes company liaison, company visits, collaborative student group projects, and the development of work cases and WIE portfolios. The objectives are to help students to:
- explore the culture of "the real world of work";
- identify career interests, skills and abilities, and explore career goals;
- develop employability skills and good work habits; and
- gain an understanding of employer expectations.
