Design and Analysis of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Pedagogies in Promoting Student Learning in Higher Education

Objectives:

The project aims to design and implement the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) pedagogies at the levels of resources, communication and self-reflection for selected courses offered by the English Language Centre and the Hong Kong Institute of Education in the academic years 2014/15 and 2015/16. 

As a result of this project,

  1. Students will be able to choose, access and learn with more e-resources in different types that address their learning needs through their own devices in and out of class;
  2. Students will be able to strengthen their connections with teachers and peers through their own devices in and out of class;
  3. Students will have ample opportunities to express their opinions as well as to respond to others' thoughts on different issues through their own devices in and out of class; and
  4. Students will be able to collect learning artefacts in and out of class thorugh their own devices for learning and then critically reflect on their learning based on the artefacts.
