Developing a series of eLearning/ blended learning subjects in PolyU's niche area of "Remote Sensing", via LEARN@PolyU (理學網) and SCORM-compliance MOOC platforms

Objectives:
Development Phase
- To establish eLearning websites in the LEARN@PolyU and SCORM-complioance MOOC platforms for our students and public audience;
- To develop a smart phone app which can access to the proposed eLearning websites in LEARN@PolyU and SCORM-compliance MOCC platforms;
- To create a set of eLearning lecture and tutorial materials for the subjects: "LSGI3321 Remote Sensing", "LSGI4322 Geo-OT in Environmental Management" and LSGI1B02 Climate Change and Society"; these e-Learning materials will be used as supplementary information for other relevant subjects;
- To illustrate two specific topics of real applications in Remote Sensing: Urban Heat Island and Dust Storms; and
- To record the operations of remote sensing software for data processing as online videos.
Implementation Phase
- To implement the blended teaching and learning modeule in both lectures and tutorials with the aid of eLearning websites, app and online eLearning materials; and
- To implement the "flipped classroom" module in the lectures. Students are requested to read and review the lecture materials before the lecturs via eLearning websites, more high order discussion and advanced interaction will be carried out in the lectures. Students will have more opportunities for learning through activity.
