Are you committed to teaching and to enhancing students learning experiences and outcomes? Do you find it challenging to demonstrate your teaching quality other than by using student evaluations? Do you support colleagues in their teaching? If so, you may be interested in pursuing a Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship.

The different categories of HEA fellowships acknowledge your commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education. They are based on the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023) which sets out the knowledge, activities and values demonstrated by those teaching and or supporting learning in higher education. HEA Fellowships are globally recognised and portable across universities. They are increasingly considered by universities as an indicator of teaching quality and as part of appointment and promotion process is. In this seminar, Principal HEA Fellows Associate Professor Paula Myatt (Griffith University, Australia) and Dr Julia Chen (PolyU), and Senior Fellow Georgina Sanger (Griffith University, Australia) will introduce the Fellowship system of Advance HE*, and the benefits and impacts of obtaining HEA Fellowship. FHSS colleagues will also share their Fellowship stores.

*Advance HE, formerly known as the Higher Education Academy, is a UK-based, global organisation with the objective of supporting strategic change and continuous improvement of higher education through the development of individuals and organisations.
