Dr Vincent To-yee Ng (COMP)

Winner of the President's Award for Excellent Performance and Achievement in Teaching 1999/2000

Associate Professor in the Department of Computing, joined the University in September 1994. Dr. Ng is honoured for his achievement in teaching. He is the winner of the Best Teacher Award 1999 of the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Ng's achievement i teaching are reflected by very favourable student opinion, innovative teaching methods, the many teaching and learning project grants he has obtained, and the publications written and presentations made arising from educational research. Dr. Ng's philosophy in teaching based on "FOCAL" which stands forfairnessto all students;opennessand accessibility to students;carefor the students' need;applicabilityof the teaching materials used; andlearningas a teacher through participation in teaching and educational development.
